Aug 21–22 2026 Arnholt Airfield, DK RWY 27 — closed since 1994

LOW ORBIT

Two nights of machine music on a runway that hasn't seen a plane in thirty years. 20 sets, 2 stages, no curfew — the nearest neighbour is six kilometres of grass. Sunset to sunrise, twice.

The lineup

Read the size, not just the name — bigger type plays closer to sunrise. Outlined names close their stage.

A runway is a dancefloor with a horizon

Arnholt flew its last cargo run in 1994. What's left is 1.9 kilometres of flat concrete, one hangar big enough to swallow a warehouse party, and a sky with nothing in it.

We point two Funktion-One rigs down the centreline. The concrete carries bass like it was poured for it. When the sun comes up over the threshold markings, you'll understand why we keep coming back.

Hangar 2 runs till 08:00 both nights

Schedule

All times local (CEST). RWY = Runway Stage, open air. HGR = Hangar 2, covered. Closing sets marked.

Ground control

The five questions everyone asks, answered straight.

Getting there
Shuttles run from Sønderborg station every 20 minutes from 12:00, free with any pass. Driving: follow the signs off route 8, parking is on the taxiway, €10 per car. Cycling from the coast path is genuinely lovely.
Sleep
Camping is on the old apron — flat, drained, and included in every pass. Bring pegs that can find the seams between slabs, or rent a pre-pitched tent at the gate (€40, sleeps two). Quiet field is behind Hangar 1.
Sound
Two Funktion-One rigs, tuned down the centreline. No curfew — the nearest house is six kilometres away and its owner has a Full Orbit pass. Free earplugs at every bar; take them, sunrise sets are long.
Weather
It's a runway on the Danish coast: no shade, some wind, occasional sideways rain. Bring sunscreen and a shell layer. The hangar is dry, vast, and exactly as loud as outside.
Leave no trace
The airfield is a protected brownfield habitat ten months a year. Deposit cups everywhere, ash tubes at the bars, and your tent goes home with you — abandoned tents are billed €60 to the named pass.
